Documentary: “The Great and Holy Monastery of Vatopedi: Truth and Myths”

Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos is one of the (if not the) largest monasteries in Greece. It is located in a verdant valley along the northeastern shore of Athos. I’ve visited the monastery numerous times and have always been blessed by their great hospitality, the beauty of their services, and the peace of their park-like setting.

The brotherhood has had a difficult couple of years, but when I visited them a few months ago, they remained optimistic and peaceful in God’s providence for them. I just learned of a documentary centered on them entitled, “The Great and Holy Monastery of Vatopedi: Truth and Myths.” Hopefully it will help set straight any records/accounts that were skewed by the evil one.

Unfortunately, the documentary does not include English subtitles…that said, it’s still worth watching for the footage captured at the monastery. It’s beautifully shot, and the filmmakers were blessed to have been granted permission to film there!
